Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Service

By submitting a vinyl record for de-warping, flattening, or restoration services (“Service”), the customer acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions in full.

2. Nature of the Service

Vinyl de-warping is a specialist restoration process intended to reduce or improve vertical warping in vinyl records. Results may vary depending on factors including but not limited to:

  • severity and type of warp;
  • age and composition of the vinyl;
  • vinyl thickness, colour, and pressing quality;
  • previous heat exposure or storage conditions;
  • manufacturing defects.

The Service is performed using professional vinyl flattening equipment and industry-standard procedures; however, vinyl flattening is not an exact science and successful results cannot be guaranteed.

3. No Guarantee of Outcome

While reasonable care and skill will be used during the flattening process:

  • no guarantee is made that a record will become completely flat;
  • some records may only partially improve;
  • some records may remain unplayable;
  • certain warps, including horizontal or lateral warps, may not be repairable.

The customer acknowledges that all results are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

4. Risk of Damage

The customer understands and accepts that:

  • there is an inherent risk involved in applying heat and pressure to vinyl records;
  • in rare circumstances, a record may become further warped, distorted, noisy, cosmetically altered, or otherwise damaged during treatment;
  • some coloured, translucent, picture-disc, specialty, or heavily heat-damaged records may be more susceptible to adverse outcomes.

By using the Service, the customer agrees that the Service Provider shall not be liable for any deterioration, playback issues, cosmetic changes, reduction in value, or total loss arising from the flattening process.

5. Records Not Accepted

The Service Provider reserves the right to refuse service for any item, including but not limited to:

  • picture discs;
  • cracked records;
  • records with severe heat damage;
  • shellac records;
  • records assessed as unlikely to benefit from flattening.

6. Assessment & Customer Approval

Records may be visually inspected before treatment. The Service Provider may recommend against flattening if the likelihood of success is low.

Where applicable, customers may be asked to provide photographs or videos before shipping records for assessment.

7. Pricing & Payment

Pricing is determined at the discretion of the Service Provider and may vary depending on the condition and complexity of the record. Payment is due prior to collection or return shipping.

8. Shipping & Transit

Customers shipping records to the Service Provider do so at their own risk.

The Service Provider is not responsible for:

  • damage occurring during transit;
  • lost or delayed shipments;
  • inadequate packaging by the customer.

Customers are encouraged to use tracked and insured postage where appropriate.

9. Collection & Storage

Customers must collect completed records within a reasonable period after notification. Records left uncollected for more than 90 days may be treated as abandoned unless prior arrangements have been made.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • liability is limited to the amount paid for the Service;
  • the Service Provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, sentimental, collector, or consequential losses;
  • no compensation will be provided for alleged reduction in collectible or resale value.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

11. Customer Acknowledgement

By submitting a record for treatment, the customer confirms that they:

  • own the record or are authorised to submit it;
  • understand the risks involved in vinyl flattening;
  • accept that outcomes cannot be guaranteed;
  • release the Service Provider from liability except where required by law.

12. Amendments

These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time without prior notice. The latest published version applies at the time the Service is provided.
