Description
KRK S12.4 Powered Studio Subwoofer
Take your studio monitoring system deeper with the KRK S12.4 powered studio subwoofer. Designed for music production, mixing, mastering, sound design, broadcast and professional audio, the S12.4 delivers powerful, controlled low-frequency performance from a 12-inch Kevlar® aramid composite woofer driven by a 220-watt Class-D amplifier.
With bass extension down to 23 Hz, a maximum peak SPL of 119.9 dB, and a selectable four-position crossover, the KRK S12.4 gives you the low-frequency detail and headroom needed to make more confident mixing and monitoring decisions.
Deep, Tight and Controlled Bass
The S12.4 features a custom-designed 12-inch Kevlar® aramid composite woofer engineered to deliver tight, defined bass with excellent transient response, control and punch.
The powerful 220-watt Class-D amplifier provides the headroom needed for demanding studio applications, while the front-firing port extends low-frequency performance and is designed to reduce boundary coupling and minimise port turbulence.
Designed for Accurate Studio Monitoring
Adding a subwoofer to your monitoring system allows you to hear frequencies that smaller studio monitors may not reproduce accurately. The S12.4 is particularly useful when working with bass-heavy music, electronic production, film audio, sound design and other material where low-frequency information is critical.
Pair the S12.4 with KRK monitors or powered studio monitors from other brands to create a more complete full-range monitoring system.
Four-Position Crossover
The four-position selectable crossover makes it easier to integrate the S12.4 with your existing studio monitors. This gives you greater control over where the subwoofer takes over the low-frequency duties, helping create a smoother and more balanced monitoring system.
The S12.4 also includes polarity and input-sensitivity controls, allowing you to fine-tune the subwoofer for your room and monitoring setup.
Subwoofer Bypass Footswitch
The S12.4 features KRK's convenient subwoofer bypass control. With the optional footswitch connected, you can quickly disable the subwoofer and crossover filter while continuing to send full-range audio to your studio monitors.
This makes A/B checking your mixes with and without the subwoofer quick and easy—without leaving the listening position. Footswitch sold separately.
Flexible Connectivity
The KRK S12.4 is designed to work with a wide range of studio monitoring systems and audio interfaces. It provides balanced and unbalanced connectivity through:
- XLR left/right inputs and outputs
- 1/4-inch TRS left/right inputs and outputs
- Stereo RCA left/right inputs and outputs
- Balanced TRS LFE input
- 1/4-inch footswitch connection
- Ground lift switch
- Polarity control
- Input sensitivity control
This flexible connection layout makes the S12.4 suitable for stereo studio monitoring as well as more advanced monitoring configurations.
Heavy-Duty Studio Construction
The S12.4 features a reinforced 18 mm MDF enclosure with a black vinyl finish and black-painted baffle. An EVA isolation pad helps provide stable positioning, while the redesigned lower-profile cabinet and front-firing port make the subwoofer practical for a range of studio environments.
